Specialist Support
Through our Love Your Neighbour ministry, we seek not only to meet people’s immediate needs but also to support them in moving beyond crisis and beginning a journey towards addressing the underlying causes of the challenges they face.
By providing access to additional support and specialist services at the point of need, we aim to remove barriers, empower individuals, and help them build greater stability, resilience, and hope for the future. In working alongside our partners and local community, we believe we are playing our part in the transformation of lives and society through the practical demonstration of the love of Jesus.
Portsmouth Health & Wellbeing Service
Portsmouth Health & Wellbeing Service attend our Safe Harbour Community Meal (Mondays, 5:30–6:30 pm) and Food Bank (Tuesdays, 11:00 am–12:00 noon) on a weekly basis, providing support to guests who wish to stop smoking. They offer access to a free vape as part of a structured stop smoking programme, alongside ongoing advice and encouragement. The team can also provide information, guidance, and referrals for a range of other health and wellbeing needs, helping guests access the wider support available to them.
Advice Portsmouth
Advice Portsmouth attend our Food Bank (Tuesdays, 11:00 am–12:00 noon) on a monthly basis, and provide free, confidential, and independent advice to people living in Portsmouth. They help residents resolve challenges by offering general and specialist support with welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, and consumer law, including assistance with form filling and debt relief orders.
Hive Portsmouth
The Community Connectors team attends our Food Bank (Tuesdays, 11:00 am–12:00 noon) on a termly basis, helping to connect people with local charities, community groups, and organisations that promote the health and wellbeing of Portsmouth residents. They can support clients in exploring volunteering opportunities, accessing local activities and services, and obtaining practical assistance, including pre-loved school uniforms and other support for families where available.
